Mark Aarons is a former ABC producer whose 1986 radio documentary
series "Nazis in Australia" led to Australia's modern War Crimes
legislation and to the formation of the Special Investigations Unit to gather
evidence against suspected Nazi war criminals in Australia. He is the author
of Sanctuary: Nazi Fugitives in Australia (1989), Ratlines: How the Vatican's
Nazi Networks Betrayed Western Intelligence to the Soviets (1991, with John
Loftus), East Timor: A Western Made Tragedy (1992, with Robert Domm), and
The Secret War Against the Jews (1994, with John Loftus).
Diane Armstrong Author and Journalist
Dr Paul Bartrop teaches history, comparative genocide studies and
Jewish religion at Bialik College, Melbourne. An Honorary Fellow in the School
of Australian and International Studies at Deakin University, he was formerly
a lecturer in racism and comparative genocide at the University of South Australia,
and has been a Visiting Professor in the Department of Political Science at
Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Virginia. His published works
include Surviving the Camps: Unity in Adversity during the Holocaust (Lanham,
Md: University Press of America, 2000), (ed) False Havens: The British Empire
and the Holocaust (Lanham, Md: University Press of America, 1995) and Australia
and the Holocaust 1933-45 (Melbourne: Australian Scholarly Publishing, 1994)
In addition, he has published numerous scholarly articles in journals and
books, as well as serving on the editorial committees of a number of Australian
and international periodicals. Dr Bartrop has served as President of the Australian
Association of Jewish Studies, and is an Honorary Life Member of the Jewish
Museum of Australia. He lives in Melbourne.

Dr Paul Valent is a psychiatrist, traumatologist and author, himself
a child survivor of the Holocaust. His books include Child Survivors: Adults
Living with Childhood Trauma (1994) Melbourne, Heinemann. This book is currently
out of print but is available through libraries. He recently published From
Survival to Fulfillment: A Framework for the Life-Trauma Dialectic and Trauma
and Fulfillment Therapy: A Wholist Framework. Both the latter books were published
in 1998 in Philadelphia by Brunner Mazel.
